Lower Nipit Improvement District (LNID) is a Land Improvement District which was given letters patent in 1965. The boundaries of LNID were set by BC legislation to be Lower Twin Lakefront property owners. The LNID mandate is “the acquisition & maintenance and operation of works for land improvement purpose and all matters incidental thereto”. There are only two land improvement districts in British Columbia – the other is on Wasa Lake. The Wasa Lake Land Improvement District is in south-eastern BC.
